Massive Petition Against Bumpkin Rebuild
Over 200 neighbours of the burnt-out Andover night club, the Country Bumpkin, have petitioned against it being rebuilt.

Their petition to Test Valley Council complains of noise and drunkenness out side their homes after late nights events in the Bumpkin and states
”the amount of broken car aerials, windows and general rowdyism is definitely conspicuous by its absence and we have no wish for this to start up again"
Organiser David Few, of Eastfield Road, said
"there had been almost 100 per cent support for the petition in the area.
"We agree the owners should be allowed to provide a Country Bumpkin again and make it fantastic for the young people because it is needed, but defiantly not in the middle of what is a heavy residential area with lots of elderly people".
Separate letters of protest from residents have also been sent to the Council and one writer pleads:
"Please listen to the voice of the local people and get Mr. Langdown to build his night club out in a filed, Thruxton perhaps, surrounded by adequate toilets".
