The building is situated almost in the centre of the new town and has been converted from the old Drill Hall, with up to date décor, lightning, refreshment rooms and bars. The ballroom with seating for 400 and will cater for dances, bingo, wrestling, dinners and conferences. Plans are also in hand for extending the building to build the “Country Suite” on the upper floor.

 A big occasion for Andover On Friday, 29th October the directors entertained 250 guests at the opening. The picture above shows the Directors with some of their guests.

Amazingly The Country Bumpkin had, over the years of its existence, some of the biggest names from the world of Radio, entertaining the crowds with their road shows.

Kid Jenson, Paul Burnett, Peter Powell, Simon Bates, Mike Reid, Steve Wright, Dave Lee Travis, Adrian Juste, Noel Edmonds just to name a few!
