Coast To Coast
Band members were Sandy Fontaine (vcls); Pattie Hem (vcls); Donna Page (vcls); Sonnie Torlot (sx); Jamie Ling (gtr); Budd Smith (bs); Earl Barton (drms)
The lead singers name, Sandy Fontaine, was made up from a childhood nickname and stealing Fontaine from Eddie Fontaine
The original singer, Alan Mills, had left the group by the time they appeared on TOTP and you can see Sandy Fontaine was miming "Do The Hucklebuck" on TOTP because the recording had already been made when Alan Mills left and Sandy Fontaine joined.
The song was re-recorded for foreign release and the album Coastin.
"Do The Hucklebuck" and "Let's Jump The Broomstick" were their only two big hits
Do The Hucklebuck
