Simon Bates Radio 1 DJ
Broadcasting legend Simon Bates is the voice of Classic FM Breakfast, weekdays 7-11am and Classic FM at the Movies, Saturday 5-7pm.
Born in Birmingham, Simon began his broadcasting career after wrestling unsuccessfully with grammar school and a redbrick university. He spent his teenage years working for radio stations in the USA, New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia before returning to the UK to work for the BBC.
